Letterboxd — Movies

I thought this was really neat app to find what people thought about movies only to find that nobody wants to give ANYTHING 5 stars and is essentially used a some sort of twitter to make a quick joke .. I’m so disappointed that you have to DIG for people sincerely reviewing anything

Letterboxd is one of the best apps out there. Clean design, a community that writes reviews with real heart, and tracking your movie history is genuinely addictive. Highly recommend it. That said, a few things hold it back. No collaborative lists. Being able to build a watchlist together with friends where anyone can add titles would be a game changer for movie nights. Friends can’t even see each other’s lists on their profiles. You can only access them via a direct link, which completely kills the discovery aspect. The social layer feels half-baked. No real friend system, no way to directly recommend a film to someone. Except via link The algorithm is weak. After hundreds of ratings, personalized recommendations are almost nonexistent. The data is there it’s just not being used. Precisely because this app is so good, these missing features stand out. With a smarter social side, Letterboxd would be unbeatable.

I absolutely love this app! I watch so many movies just to be able to log that I've watched a new one. But please add the feature to combine lists and make it so that movies aren't marked as watched in the lists even if I've already seen them. I also have lists of movies I want to watch with friends, and it's annoying when they're already marked as watched. AND most importantly, you need to enable the ability to send movies to each other. That's so important!
