VLC media player

Overall the app is okay. UI is decent. Need a search bar for music tracks on the songs list. If I am listing to music then close the app and reopen it later, I can’t go to the next track. The arrow that usually does that only skips 10 seconds ahead on the song now. The only fix is to go back to the song list and play another song. The next button works again after that until I stop using the app for a while. Restarting the app doesn’t fix it either Very annoying bug.

Its free, doesn’t shows advertisements every 3 minutes like youtube, doesn’t asks for huge sum of money for monthly subscription like apple music that can not even run local media. I can just download from web and play anything. ✨✨✨. UI is simple and clean, it even has a built in equaliser for music playback. Thats the best feature. Its the best app in appstore. 3,9 rating for this gem haha, the other companies are just jealous and mass spamming 1 star.

VLC is honestly one of those apps that deserves far more recognition and support. It’s completely free, yet it offers features that many paid media players don’t provide nearly as well. It plays an incredible variety of audio and video formats, and the viewing experience is extremely practical. Being able to easily control subtitles, volume, and screen brightness while watching makes such a difference, especially when you use it frequently. What impresses me most is that VLC continues to be developed as a free and open-source project while providing such a powerful, reliable, and genuinely useful player. If you’re looking for a media player, give VLC a try before paying for something else. And if you already use and appreciate it, consider supporting the people behind it so they can continue developing and improving this amazing app. ❤️🏆

VLC has been one of my go to, opensource, video apps for over a decade on my Macs. I just downloaded it for iOS and love all the fratures it has, but is still missing a critical, seemingly obvious, integration with the native Apple Photos app. It would be great if VLC could recognize media content in the Photos app and even be able to view albums as playlists. I’m still giving the app 5 stars, but hopefully they will add this feature soon!

Does it have bugs that need fixed? Yes does it need to be updated? Yes but dissuading people from getting it is dumb because i’m fairly sure you don’t have a better recommendation. The only suggestion i would make is to add looping support for file types that can have loop points .wav and the like. edit: what’s the point of that edit:Sent!

One of the few, great constants in the computer world. It is a powerful tool but ’m not skilled enough to use it for more than the basic music player activities. However I will always bring it in on any new devices, like a favorite classic music album.
