Privacy Policy

Aspirit – iOS App by Julian Schiemann

Summary

Aspirit does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything you do in the app, your quiz results, your reads, your daily moves and reflections, stays on your device and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud. There are no accounts, no profiles, and no third-party tracking.

What data does the app process?

Aspirit is a reflective self-development app. You take a short quiz, meet your inner animal from 56 archetypes mapped onto 8 personality dimensions, and turn that read into daily practice (Daily Move, Daily Read, Movement, Roster, a widget, and shareable result cards). All of this is processed and stored entirely locally on your device. The only thing that ever leaves your device is an anonymous, aggregate count of which animal was reached, and it is never tied to you, your profile, or any identifier (see the Tracking section).

Locally stored data

Results, reads, and moves: Your quiz answers, trait vectors, the people you read in your Roster, your Daily Read predictions, and your Daily Moves with reflections are stored on your device via SwiftData.
Preferences: App settings, notification preferences, widget configuration, and onboarding status are stored locally in UserDefaults.
Widget data: The home-screen widget reads the same local data through an App Group on your device.

This data never leaves your device (except as described under iCloud Sync, which is your own private iCloud) and is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app.

Tracking

Aspirit uses no tracking, no analytics SDKs, and no advertising SDKs. The app contains no code that profiles you or sends personal data to third parties. The single piece of non-local data is an anonymous, aggregate count of which animal archetypes are reached across all users. This count carries no name, account, device identifier, or any other personal data, and it cannot be linked back to an individual person or profile.

The Aspirit widget shows today’s move and reads the same local data through an App Group on your device. No data is sent to external services.

Notifications

Aspirit can send local reminders, for example your daily move. These notifications are scheduled and generated entirely on your device. No external push service is involved.

iCloud Sync (CloudKit)

If enabled, your data is synced between your own devices through your personal iCloud account using CloudKit’s private database. The data resides in your private iCloud container, not with the developer. Apple processes this data according to Apple’s privacy policy.

You can share result cards from Aspirit. Sharing happens only on your initiative, and you choose where the card goes. The developer receives nothing when you share.

Since Aspirit does not collect or transmit personal data to the developer, standard GDPR requests (access, deletion, rectification) do not apply. All your data resides exclusively on your device and, if you enable it, in your own private iCloud. You stay in full control: uninstalling the app removes everything from your device, and synced copies can be removed via your device’s iCloud settings.
